The article comments on private banks and wealth managers offering "bespoke investment solutions" by diversifying portfolios. Private banks are moving away from equities and investing a greater proportion in alternatives such as hedge funds, structured products, commodities, private equity and multi-asset funds. The typical allocation now would be 25% in alternatives, which compares with an average portfolio weighting approaching 15% alternatives at the end of 2006 among 32 private banks surveyed by ComPeer.
