WealthBriefing, in association with ComPeer, the research company, and LPEQ, a group representing European-listed private equity trusts, is carrying out high level research on how the wealth management industry views listed private equity in the investment landscape.
The research is designed to highlight how important such closed-ended vehicles are and to raise their profile within the investment arena. The survey is being carried out after private equity has had to adjust to the financial turmoil, with some big buyout deals hit by the freeze in the debt markets last year, while the sharp drop in the valuations of some firms means private equity investors can acquire firms - some of them in distress - for very cheap prices.
