It is critical for the wealth management industry to be able to better understand, measure and evaluate the full cost of regulation and compliance. This will enable firms to communicate and consult effectively with Regulators and Government, ensuring that new regulations benefit clients as well as meet their objectives. To support this, ComPeer has surveyed the top 50 UK Wealth Managers about their real costs of regulation and compliance, the results of which will be shared with you at this event.

SPEAKERS:

         Bruce Weatherill (ComPeer) - Master of Ceremonies - Bruce is a Chartered Accountant with over 35 years financial services industry experience around the world. He was a partner in PwC for 20 years and is now a non-executive Director of ComPeer.

 

         Andrew Tyrie MP (Chairman of the Treasury Select Committee) - Andrew started his career in the industry with British Petroleum. He was also a full-time adviser to successive Chancellors of the Exchequer, giving advice on reducing taxes, encouraging enterprise, and cutting red tape. He was Senior Economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Andrew is constantly challenging the effectiveness of regulation and is working towards a better business enviroment.

 

         Panel - Tim May (CEO of the Association of Private Client Stockbrokers), Angela Knight (CEO of the British Bankers' Association, Susan Wright (Regulations Adviser at the Investment Management Association).

         Mike Levy (ComPeer) - Mike has spent over 20 years in the wealth management industry and for the last 5 years has been Business Development Director for ComPeer. Over this period Mike has seen a vast amount of change and is ideally placed to offer a unique insight into the changes that have occured.
